There is no Tulum eSIM — a Mexico plan covers it. The reason a Tulum page is worth reading rather than just the Mexico one is the geography: Tulum splits between the town (pueblo) on the highway and the beach hotel zone along a single coastal road, and connectivity between the two is very different.

Coverage in Tulum
Telcel has by far the best reach in Quintana Roo and is what you want your eSIM roaming onto. Tulum town has solid 4G. The beach road through the hotel zone is a well-known weak spot — the jungle-and-dune strip has limited infrastructure and coverage drops in patches along it. Cenotes, being underground, have no signal at all, and the Sian Ka'an biosphere south of town is largely uncovered.
Arriving in Tulum
Tulum now has its own airport, Tulum International (TQO), which opened at the end of 2023 — but many visitors still fly into Cancún (CUN) and drive or shuttle the roughly two hours south. Confirm which you are using, and have data working for the transfer either way.
What catches people out
The beach hotel zone has patchy coverage
The single coastal road through the hotel strip is a known weak spot. If staying there, download maps and expect gaps between properties.
Cenotes have no signal
They are underground. Agree a meeting point with your group before going in rather than planning to call.
Two airports serve Tulum
Tulum International (TQO) opened in late 2023; many flights still route via Cancún (CUN), around two hours north. Check your booking.
